There is no doubt Bob Clarke was the best long shot jockey produced in Queensland but also in Australia. He set the record for riding the longest priced winner in Brisbane. A lightweight jockey, Clarke rode his share of big race winners but he will always be remembered as the long shot king.

Some of his big priced winners included 330-1 Magic Wind, 200-1 Sir Ivo, 100-1 Carnegie, 80-1 Bakefelt, 66-1 Fateful, 50-1 Malloch, The Lieutenant, Ray Realm, Royal Bore (Queensland Guineas), 40-1 Prince Amair, 33-1 Mr Dan, Torrock, Stock Flight, Remote, Goldzel, Morgan's Will, 25-1 Langoona (Queensland Cup), Strong Port (Queensland Cup), Hopeful Stakes (Rego Lad, Sun and Sand) and QTC Metropolitan (Prince Charmer).
