Jack Parr was a successful businessman and turned his hand to owning and breeding in the 1960s and had a lot of success. His best horse in the 1960s was Toi Port who won two Epsom's. He later had a lot of success with his imported stallion Khalekan which won a Tattersall's Cup and TSTC Tancred Cup (now the BMW Classic). In the 1970s he had a great association with trainer Jim Griffiths and they won many races with horses such as Golden Khan, Karpelli, You Tambien and El Karpe.
